Kishwaukee-Kiwanis Trail

Kishwaukee-Kiwanis Trail

When I travel, I love to see the sights. It helps me get my steps in and get to know the area I’m visiting. The Kishwaukee-Kiwanis Trail runs near the Kishwaukee River and passes the Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Walking this trail was a great opportunity for family bonding, meeting friendly residents and enjoying the sights. Since the trail is paved, it is a convenient way for bikers to get from one end of town to another. One observation on the trail was the old style lawn which contained both grass and clover. Sadly, even though we saw many flowers in bloom, we didn’t see many bees. It’s clear we have a way to go in order to help our insects recover.

Enjoy my pictures of this beautiful urban trail.

It took a bit of encouragement, but mom and dad finally got the little geese into the river.
