Art in Bloom

Art in Bloom

Winter can get long in Wisconsin, but when spring arrives, it is full of life and joy. A dear friend took me to the Milwaukee Art Museum for the annual “Art in Bloom” display. On entering the museum, the air was filled with the scent of lilies and roses. Florists were assigned a piece of art as inspiration for a floral display. Some were easy to match to the painting, and others were more abstract. All were beautiful.

I’m not a professional photography by any stretch of the imagination, but I tried to capture the floral display as well as the piece of art that was used as inspiration by the florist. I’m going to use the beautiful blue hydrangeas as inspiration for my hillside garden. My favorite is “Haymaking Time”. It reminds me of my grandmother and makes me happy. Enjoy my pictures. Which one is your favorite display?

I’m impressed with how creative all the florists were. What a cool idea. I too really like the beautiful Hydrangeas. I must say, my favorite pick is Shepherd’s Dream. I love how the color orange jumps out and gives me happy feelings.

Each arrangement so creatively depicts the paintings! Hard to pick a favorite, but love the basket of colorful roses in front of the Horseman. Thanks!
